Keeping McFarland Safe - Join the Conversation

As McFarland works to keep us safe during this new global health crisis, we must ensure our city is better prepared for any future emergency. We know that residents are relying on the critical services the City provides, including 911 response, safety, and other emergency preparedness services. We will continue to put your health and safety first, and keep you updated through these unprecedented times.

McFarland has some tough choices ahead, as past and current budget shortfalls have affected our ability to provide the basic services you rely on. As we look to our next steps and recovery, and plan for a self-reliant future, we want to do a better job communicating with our residents and let the McFarland community's priorities guide our actions. Feedback we have received from residents on their priorities include:

  • Helping ensure the City is prepared for any natural disaster or major health emergency
  • Improving emergency response during a catastrophe
  • Preventing property crimes, like thefts and burglaries
  • Hiring and retaining well-qualified police officers
  • Improving medical emergency response
  • Protecting fire and paramedic services
  • Repairing streets
In these challenging times, we want to continue to hear from you.
