The McFarland Police Department oversees the day to day operations of Animal Control services and its' facilities. The Animal Control Division consists of two Animal Control Officers. Animal Control Officers impound stray dogs found abandoned or lost within the community. They are proactive in their efforts to saving lives and seeking to give shelter to any animal impounded. They also strive to educate citizens on pet care, vaccinations, spay/neuter and city ordinances. Animals can be reclaimed by their owners, adopted, or rescued.
